Determining mfgr date of Genesis Silver B

I see what your saying...thanks for the tip...the silver c I'm getting looks like the same year as the one I've been talking about.on this thread....so I'll see when I get it ....thanks again for all the info and advice..

I found the newer valves have more sweep angle, so you may want to factor that in and keep the control panels with the manifold so they match.

The newer valves and control panels have LOW in the 3 o clock position.

The older 8101 control panel LOW is in the 4:30 or 5 o clock position.

Edit: here's a newer 8128. Compare it to your 8101 and you'll see what I'm trying to say.

Edit 2 an 8101 for example

Yeah, autocorrect got you. If you click on the three dots you can edit your post to fix typos.
Good observation about the sweep of the controls

IIRC if you see the wider sweep area controls/control panel those valves typically are the slotted spools (easier to convert LP-NG or NG-LP. Only swapping main orifices then. But, need to confirm by actually looking at the spool. They also IIRC don't have "detents" for L-M-H settings

There is another way to help determine the date of your grill. If you look under your cook box on the bottom front edge or maybe somewhere else, you will likely find a date stamp. It indicates the date the cook box was manufactured. The grill could have actually been put together months or maybe a year or so later, but usually not that long. Here is an example: The Blue arrow points to the Year and the red arrow points to the month of manufacture. So this cook box was made in April 2000.
