Dad does Chuck Eyes

Dad (me) made his own Father's Day dinner.
One son lives in Colorado, and my daughter is away on vacation.
So it was just my wife, and other son celebrating.

Potatoes grilled then foiled to hold, bread and 2 of 3 'eyes grilling.

A little salad to kick things off.

Then on to greater things.

Hope all of you Dads had a great day!
It's always bittersweet for those of us who have dad's that have passed on, but they are always with us in spirit, every single day.

Sweet cook! Sweet gift! I love my Et-732.

A tip...if you're monitoring cooker temps and cook time, but not internal meat temps (ie: for ribs), plug the smoker probe in the meat input. Now when you put it in "timer mode" you can see both (in "timer mode" the cooker temp isn't shown).

BTW, I know not to cook ribs by time but the timer counts up as well as down. It's nice to know how long they have been on (counting up) to guestimate when to start checking for tender.

Thanks for the tips Don!
My old ET-7 (yes an ET-7) kept breaking contact while in the house, about 20 feet away.

Tim,
What I found:
chuck eye = mock tender = chuck fillet = chuck filet = chuck tender = Scotch tender

But beware, I've seen steaks with the 'tender' moniker, and they were not chuck eyes.
They should look like smaller ribeyes.

OUTSTANDING Chucks Bob!
Got those going tomorrow!
Tim, chuck eyes can be found at Pick'n Save stores and Sendik's on occasion has them.
Look for CHUCK EYE STEAK do not be mislead by Chuck steak... not the same.

Thanks for the info Bob and Jim.
I have seen cuts labeled mock tender and chuck tender, but they look nothing like what I see being cooked up here. The search continues.
