Couple other very intriguing offers from Monument Grills

Here are a couple more offerings from Monument Grills in the lower price range. I mean we are talking $500 for a six burner.

IR Side burner. Lighted knobs. Built in temp monitoring, And look at that, it looks like a stainless steel cook box and stainless grease pan.

Only thing missing is rear IR rotisserie burner and built in rotisserie. I am gonna have to check these out when I visit Menards.

I've checked them out. Honestly? Other than not having a cast cook box, I'd place them right up there with a Genesis or a Spirit. IMO one of the better offerings on the market especially in a reasonable price range

The grill world is changing fast. It has to be hard for Weber to compete at their price structure. Some of these newer companies, I think, are probably a lot nimbler and with lower overhead costs.

I may be going there this weekend. I have a bunch of rebates the wife has given me permission to use on paint and supplies. If I forget a magnet, I am guessing I can find one there lol
I am betting 430 stainless at that price point, but I will be very interested to see what you find - and also what you think when looking at them in person. When I last looked, my take was that if you have the 5-year view like most grill buyers, these offer quite a bit for their price.

Looking at grills as disposables goes against my grain, but newer Webers are pretty much built with the same time-frame. That's what keeps my affection going for restoring the classic Webers from when George :george: was still at the helm.

I'm wondering about the steel as well. But then hell, that Vevor table I bought? Every last piece of it is non mag SS and the price point? Ridiculous! Under $90 IIRC.

The Monument grills have an 8 year warranty. I think Weber is generally around 10 year for the Genesis line. So, I think that is pretty comparable as long as Monument stands behind that policy.

Not sure I like the slits in the flavorizers and their effect on the vaporizing of dribbling fat and also temperature control. Seems like Webers were/are designed to keep the heat in the bottom, these perhaps not so much

I think it's a genius design myself. I'd love to see they would fit my Wolf. Since Wolf also updated the later version of my grill to a "vented" heat tent

At first thought I am thinking the juices and grease will leak through to the burners which negates the protection of the flavo bars. However, I imagine that the juices burn up or vaporize almost immediately after hitting the flavo bars.

I am not sure what I think, but it is not like they put those slits in to save $. I would think it helps raise the grate level temps. They don't look open enough to allow significant grease to get to the burners, but I admit I don't know without trying.

Well thank you for volunteering to buy one and give us your thoughts Jon! Now that you have that $500 sale burning a hole in your pocket :D All kidding aside, I think it would rase the efficiency quite a lot. Get more heat "up" where it should be and less forced down to ignite drippings

I would like to see how thick the flavor bars are. Its hard to judge looking at the slits. It almost looks like the slit design is intending to get more even heat from front to back, as the spacing of the slits change to less in the middle and at the front are higher up toward the top.

Yes Cody, I imagine a lot of engineering and testing led to the pattern of slits that the bars now have.

Not terrible warranty on the Eminence series.
