Cost of packer briskets going up?

In my area, they have gone up almost a dollar per lb in the last few months. Has anyone else noticed this?
 
I just bought one this week in the Chicagoland area and paid $2.29lb. Smoked it yesterday and had a samich this morning. "Breakfast of Champions".
 
I am paying 1.58 lb @ Wal mart for usually select cuts, 1.72 lb from a restaurant supply house for usually a no roll packer, and 1.90 at a country grocer in Plant City.

Once in a while Sams has packers at 1.65 approx.
 
Checked Sams yesterday they were $1.60 per pound for choice. Probably less if you bought by the case
 
I noticed this back in the spring.

Last year they were $1.25 pretty much all year. This spring I noticed they were $1.58. As far as I know they are still there. I haven't shopped for one for at least a month. Those prices were at wally world. I haven't found packers anywhere else. Well I did order one from a butcher shop once. After paying over $4 a pound I decided I wouldn't be going back.
