Cooking in the rain

I'm, hoping to cook today but rain is likely. Don't have a canopy. Will having the top vent open ruin the cook?

It will not help! Do you have a deck umbrella? I use a deck umbrella for every cook just in case.

My amazing wife suggested an little aluminum tent to loosely fit over the dome. Tragedy avoided!

Be careful, if the rain it heavy enough it will seep through the lid joint and where the midsection goes into the bottom bowl. The top vent is not the only access point for rain. It will also go in through the access door unless you flip the door upside down.

I use the big embrella. I have also seen people use a top from a 40 or 50 gal rubbermaid trash can. The handle fits right over the handle of the WSM's lid. The lid seems to not get hot enough to melt the rubber maid lid.
