Cooking babybacks today on my WSM 22.5, targeting 275 degrees. I use an iGrill, which has been great so far, but today, had a bit of divergence in temps. Started out with dome temp and igrill readout both within 5 degrees of each other, but now the dome thermo dropped to 245, while the iGrille readout (at upper grate) reads 290.
Its a pretty windy day with a band of t-storms coming thru in about 3 hours (hopefully later). Would the wind entering the upper vent lower the reading of the dome thermo by that much?
BTW, I'm trying Plowboys Yardbird rub on one rack, and the BRITU rub on the other 2. Will foil at 2.5-3 hrs with parkay, brown sugar, honey, and tiger sauce.........
Gotta remember to take some pics too, unless i'm dodging lightning.......
