Combo cook with the turkey?

I am gonna do my turkey on the WSMC this year.... Does anyone do a combo cook? Turkey and a side in the smoker same time? My kitchen has a litter of puppies in one half... so I am trying to make my life easier.... appreciate any ideas!

I’ll be doing a turkey breast and leg of lamb. Sides, for whatever reason, those seem to be demanding use of the oven for grandchildren assistance. “Ba’Corn”, cornbread stuffing, hassleback sweet potatoes, hash brown casserole, Brussels sprouts will occupy space varying from oven to second (or third) grill! I wish I’d gotten the blue haired lady done a month ago!

Yes, I have! Like three weeks ago. Love the atmosphere, the chairs and tables outside, the outdoors smokers, the woods, the creek, the ambiance. I like that you can put on exactly how much or how little condiments you want. However, the sandwiches, the meat for whatever reason, just aren't as juicy as Pioneer. My wife agrees. Yeah, at Pioneer, you got the interstate traffic, the dumpster, so there's not as much charm. But the pit beef sandwiches are killer. I think Pioneer dry brines their beef. It seems to be bursting with flavor. Still, Jakes is very close. A very close second, I would say. MHO

There's one in Upperco I'm going to try next, called Char'd. Looks promising.

My green bean casserole will also go in the smoker next to the turkey breasts and the glazing ham. And, in my green bean casserole recipe I use both cream of mushroom AND golden mushroom soup with some sour cream to do a little stroganoff inspired version. Just a tip for anyone looking for an update to an old classic.
