Sadly, I got both of you beat.
I didn't even want to share my lameness when it happened..
My last big cook, with 4 racks of ribs and two PP's, where I used the bottom rack for the first time? Yeah, I figured the bottom rack was going to need a good cleaning, since I've just let stuff fall down on there and build up for the past 2.5 years.
I figured it was well past time to pull off my foil on the pan, and change it, cause honestly, I couldn't remember how long it had been. So after pulling out the lower grate and reaching in to the black abyss, I go to lift the pan, and feel quite a bit of weight. I pull it out, and to my surprise, I hadn't foiled it after my last time cleaning it ( God knows how long ago) and I had FILLED the entire pan with 5 inches of solid black gritty grease...
It took over a half an hour to scoop out into a shopping bag and clean up. I remember thinking that the WSM was getting a bit heavier, and I certainly could hear a bit of "boiling" going on while I had my cooks going.
Lesson learned. Don't be lazy. Another cook or two, and I would likely had an unbelievable grease fire on my hands. I keep a fire extinguisher right out on the deck for safety sake, but I felt like kicking my own *** that night.
My fuel consumption is markedly better now.
I almost took a picture of it to share, it was rather impressive, and embarrassing.
