Clean your glow plug

I had noticed that my Smokefire was taking a little longer to get the smoke going on start up. Usually averaging about 30 seconds to a minute, it was taking 3 or more minutes before smoke was showing and the lid could be closed. I knew that something was going on, but I let it roll. One day, it failed to light. I cleaned out the burn pot and noticed some crud/soot on the glow plug. I took a small stainless brush and lightly brushed it off. Restarted and it fired right up and back to about 30 seconds for smoke since then. Probably would be a good idea to clean the glow plug when doing a standard cleaning, I hadn't either for a while. I'm not sure if the brand pellets make a difference in it or not, as I use several different brands, all of which have worked very well. I just wanted to mention it, in case someone was having issues or was getting ready to clean theirs. 86 cooks in, and I'm still on the original glow plug, and it looks like a light cleaning on occasion will keep it healthy. Hope this helps.

LOL - glow plugs are (or were) something included with a diesel tractor my dad had - I'd turn the key backwards for about 30 sec before actually starting the engine.
