Christmas Roast

TVWBB All-Star
14.3lb 5 bone choice standing rib roast from my local butcher - all prepped and ready for the oven

Arsty shot by my son - resting before slicing

No shots of the whole meal - the family was ravenous and pawing at the roast. Sides of grilled green beans, mashed potatoes, cornbread stuffing, fresh baked bread, yams, gravy from the pan drippings, and a nice Napa red.

Hope everyone had a great Christmas!

Looks like you could feed quite a few hungry people with that PR Roast. Nice roast resting pic.
So many ways to cook a prime rib... 500° for ?? minutes per pound and don't open the oven for 2 hrs.

You would think that roast would feed quite a few, but I have two sons in their late 20's home and they are already consuming large portions as 2nd day leftovers.

We had roast beef omelets this morning, and we'll be doing a repeat xmas dinner tonight, then roast beef sandwiches and soup I made from the bones for Saturday.

I don't know how much will be left after that. I was hoping to vacuum seal a couple of thick slices for quick dinners next year...I'm uncertain at this point.

The frozen leftovers I had stashed are practically all gone now, and both sons have already asked me to do pulled pork for Sunday!

Your boys being boys.....eat

Before I moved out of my parents house, mom and pops said we are not going to charge you for rent we are going to charge you for food.:)

I also slice off the ribs bones from the prime rib and hide them, then the next day I cover them in bbq sauce and onions and slow cook them all day....

That sounds delicious.
