Yes....I make not only beans and chili, but also my One Pot Jambalaya.
Basically, anything you cook in the oven can be cooked on the WSM......just let the temp get up around 300-325? and cook away.
In the summer we rarely use our oven, but use the gasser instead. Works great and you can cook an entire meal using it.
One word of warning....whatever pot/dish you use will get blackened/discolored from the charcoal and smoke. I simply wrap the outside in foil. When finished, just throw the foil away. Of course using cast iron there would be no need to do this....just be sure to clean immediately!
