Threw on some drumsticks on Sunday. Just getting around to posting now. It kinda sums up how life is these days. Anyways, I hit a few with kickin chicken, a couple with garlic salt and a few naked. Honestly, I couldn't tell the difference once hot sauce went on.
Cooked indirect at 300 for about 30, flipped and repeated. Somehow I let the temp kinda fizzle in between doing bunch of things...Had to move them to the gas to get a nice crisp on the skin. Came off the grill hot with lots of crispy gorgeous pieces. Then our 2 year old and 7 month old distracted us for about 2 hours and we ate luke warm chicken. The meat was very good, but texture was way off of what we had achieved right off the grill. It happens sometimes with my cooks, and we try to roll with the punches. Even if you time out your cook perfect, there's bathtime, bedtime, diapers, crying, books to be read, and boys to wrestle. No complaints. Just warm chicken.
Thanks for looking.
