Chicken Drumsticks + 2 kids under the age of 3 ....

Threw on some drumsticks on Sunday. Just getting around to posting now. It kinda sums up how life is these days. Anyways, I hit a few with kickin chicken, a couple with garlic salt and a few naked. Honestly, I couldn't tell the difference once hot sauce went on.
Cooked indirect at 300 for about 30, flipped and repeated. Somehow I let the temp kinda fizzle in between doing bunch of things...Had to move them to the gas to get a nice crisp on the skin. Came off the grill hot with lots of crispy gorgeous pieces. Then our 2 year old and 7 month old distracted us for about 2 hours and we ate luke warm chicken. The meat was very good, but texture was way off of what we had achieved right off the grill. It happens sometimes with my cooks, and we try to roll with the punches. Even if you time out your cook perfect, there's bathtime, bedtime, diapers, crying, books to be read, and boys to wrestle. No complaints. Just warm chicken.:)

Thanks for looking.

Looks great. Got a 17 month old boy. Know the feeling about time constraint. Wouldn't change a thing though.

Luke, I’ve lived that story about your youngsters, it was like it was yesterday except now my youngest is 35 with a family of his own, did I say it was yesterday. There always be more chicken to cook, but family time only comes once, sure sounds like you’ve got it down right.
Still a great cook..
