Hi All.
Really need some help
My snap-jet sparks. Initially a Burst of flame comes out of the tube. However it doesn’t stay lit
I can hear the propane when the flame in the tube goes out
What do I need to do? I’ve gotten ash out of the tube with a q tip. No difference
All suggestions welcome
I am not very handy. I’d hire an authorized repair person but I don’t know if any are near me

Thanks

I’d suggest first trying to blow out the entire tube with compressed air. They need cleaning on occasion to get the soot and spiders out of there. Mine does the exact same thing from time to time. In fact, the previous owner of one of my Performers never used the gas assist, and I still had to blow the tube out, and then it worked fine. Consider it regular maintenance.

If you have a manual it's on page 30. Basically it involves using a pipe cleaner. It's under annual maintenance. Haven't had to do it on my Summit Charcoal, but had to clean out my SS Performer a few years ago. Pretty simple to do

The gas assist clicks but stopped working properly on my SS Performer but I quickly cleaned it out last night. I sprayed water full blast from a garden hose directly into the back of burner tube (remove clip, detach black gas hose, and sprayed water in same direction propane flows). After reattaching gas hose, the Gas Assist worked immediately. To prevent rust, just allow the burner and rest of grill to air dry before you close grill up for the night or cover grill. I usually clean out the burner tube when I switch out the 5lb LP tank or maybe every other time.

Another area that could cause issues is a pin hole in the brass fitting on the end of black gas hose could have debris obstructing hole. Some folks use a paper clip to clear it out in seconds. See folks discussing issue in this Reddit post:
