Charcoal Go Anywhere lower vent mods?

I do love my CGA but I absolutely detest the crappy metal vent closure strips for the lower vents. I have wracked by brain for a good mod for it and I've searched the interwebs for something and I haven't come up with anything good yet. Does anyone have any ideas or know of any mods to replace them with something better for the lower vent adjustments?

I’ve been going back and forth between the Jumbo Joe and and the go anywhere and i could never tell if the GA vent was good or not, granted I’d probably only cook hot and fast on it. What are you having trouble with?

They don't really go up and down very well and sometimes it's difficult to make sure they are all the way down. They are just a very inelegant way to control the lower vents.

It would be nice if the CGA had some slots/rails to keep the strips snug against the body.

Maybe stick a rare earth magnet at the center of the strip?

Very interesting way of doing it. But I have had no issues so not sure what to recommend.
