Charcoal Dust

Has anyone experienced charcoal dust towards the top of the smoker? First time this has happened. Using regular kingsford charcoal like usual, and didn't do much to stir the coals...is this a big problem is some of the dust got on the pork butt? I wiped it with a wet paper towel, and it seems alright...

Have never had this problem during a cook since I never stir the coals.
Although, I would expect this to happen if the coals are stirred since airflow is from bottom to top.

Was there a reason you had to stir the coals, even if only a little ?

I do it all the time towards the end. I leave the door open a minute. Never had a problem

That can happen if you remove the lid to quickly. It draws ash up because of increased vacuum. Remove the lid slowly.
