Char-Griller Auto Akorn Kamado thoughts

I have the Akorn Jr. I had fun with it, did low heat cooks, did high heat cooks from Chicken to Pork with just about everything in between. My favorite BBQ remains my 22" Weber Kettle

I've learned how to store it to avoid rust in the vulnerable area...remove the ash pan underneath and store it upside down under the lid and cover the Akorn.
That is good info. I left mine out one nite. It was directly under my garage overhang ( no gutter ) and uncovered. It poured overnite to my surprise.
Luckily the rain didn't get into the lectronics but when I removed the ash pan I could hear water sloshing between the layers.
I set it on it's side in the sun to drain out.

I hate when that happens. I cover everything even my all aluminum PKs.
