changing wireless settings

Hey guys,

I had to change my wireless encryption settings to WPA2 today, and now I can't figure out how to access the HeaterMeter to update it to connect using the new settings.

I can't remember what the trick is to connect to this thing to configure it for the new network.

Thanks for any help,
Andrew

With it plugged into lan go to http://heatermeter.com/devices/ to see the ip address of the heater meter. Then type that address into your link bar at the top. This should take you to the heater meter setup pages. From there click on network at the top then wifi just below that. Find your network and click connect then enter the password. Once done you will have to reboot the heater meter for it to connect.

If you are a visual person like me then follow this page below this should get you back connected.

Excellent! Problem solved. For some reason my HM wasn't getting a 192.168.1 IP address the other day. A restart of the router and then trying the linked instructions again did the trick. Thank you!

If you're out and about and want to change settings on the fly, use an Ethernet cable with a laptop. Set the ip of the laptop to be static and use 192.168.200.2. The HM defaults to 200.1 when outside of a network and router setup. From there you can connect directly to the HM when powered up by putting 192.168.200.1 in a browser window and log in the usual way. This will let you bring your HM around and connect to different WiFi points.
