Change of plans, turkey to the rescue.

It is so darn warm here, I had to have a change of plans. Originally it was going to be beef ribs on the jambo. But it's way too warm to sit out and run a fire. I could do it, but it would be miserable. If only there was a smoker I could light, set and pretty much forget.... Oh wait! I have two of those!

So here we go. Two turkey breasts on the 18.5 with b&b hickory lump. I think the webers will get the call for the foreseeable future. At least until November. We can see our towns fireworks and the ones from the island from the front yard so should be a good night. Hope everyone is having a fun and safe 4th.

Love a slow smoked turkey breast. Makes the best sandwiches, with a little bbq sauce on it. Mmm. Happy 4th!

What is with the tube bolted to the grate.

That is half of an attachment for putting a swiveling grate on top of the upper grate. Used to use it during comps when I was setting the sauce on ribs. I think it was designed for a BGE but it fit with little modification. I have a smokey Joe grate attached to it.
