Central KY Smoke Wood

Does anyone know of any brick and mortar stores around Central Kentucky (Lexington area) to get good smoke wood? We've made due with the hickory chunks (NOT CHIPS) from Wal-Mart for a while, but I'm looking for something a little more sizable and consistent. Any thoughts, feelings, or emotions? Thank you!

Hickory, cherry, oak is easy to find in Kentucky. You can find guys who sell it by the truck load or what ever little amount you want. Look in your local paper for guys selling.

You might try calling local True Value or Ace hardware stores. In Michigan, some of them have pretty respectable grilling areas in their store. One local True Value store has apple and cherry chunks for sale.

You can find plenty of downed trees to cut up. Call an orchard to see if they have trimmings you can take. Invest in a chain saw. In my area trees are always falling down. Call the guys that trim trees professionally. See if they have oak,hickory or cherry. Barter with BBQ. Once you give them some you'll probably get more wood then you can handle. Unless you do a lot of smoking a little goes a long way

So far I have found Craigs List to be a Q'ers bets friend.
Try looking there, and search on "wood".
