I just bought Larry Wolfes recipes and noticed next to the ingredient cayenne pepper is 40K. I'm not sure what that means. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance.
As was said. Most all of us have had jalapenos. Jalapeno's are in the 4000-8000 range to give some idea of "heat". Of course, with cayenne in the 40000 range, it also depends on how much cayenne is in that bottle. A 1/8 tsp or 1 tsp makes a big difference. You won't know till you try it.
