well I work on a golf course...and I'm surrounded by trees..BUT I don't think my boss would like me to start hacking away at our trees. Unless I give him ribs..

Just cut up the fallen limbs into chunks,you dont need many.
 
My suggestion would be to pick up the phone and call a local apple orchard. Even a handful of limb wood last you a while. Most guys will sell it cheap or give it away if you are buying apples.

As for some of the other woods... Smokinlicious is great. I bought a bag of double fillet hickory and that stuff is worth every penny.

Start with the basics... apple, hickory and maybe some oak should be fine.
 
I like to try and cut my own, last year we cut down a cherry tree and it imparted awesome flavor.

For the inbetween times I use amazon.

Though that Candadian website looked cheaper for better wood, I may order from there next.
