This joint is related to Trail Dust BBQ in Morgan Hill and South Winchester Barbeque in San Jose. You can read those reviews to learn most of what you need to know about Barbeque 152 as the menu and sides and beers are about the same.
But on my visit to Barbeque 152, I was in the mood for a tri-tip sandwich, something I had not tried at the other joints. A generous amount of meat was served on the usual ciabatta bread that was lightly toasted with butter and garlic. The tri-tip had a monster smoke ring and was moist, not overcooked. My gripe about the sandwich was that the meat had some tough silverskin on the surface that made some parts inedible, the meat was sliced way too thick for a sandwich which made it hard to eat, and the ciabatta bread is just not the right choice for a barbecue sandwich, in my opinion.
So I'd recommend trying the barbecue plates, but skip the sandwiches.
