Buttermilk Marinade?

Has anyone ever used a Buttermilk or Milk based marinade on pork or wild boar / pig?

Cooking Half of a small Wild Hog for the 4th.

I read somewhere (can find it now)that Buttermilk with a little lemon juice marinade works well.

The only thing I ever marinaded in Buttermilk was chicken. Let us know how the Wild Hog cook goes and please take pictures. I want to do a small wild hog one day myself.

You'd want to make sure your temp is up high enough to avoid the curdle factor. Wild Boar was made to cook low temp, 225-250 so in my mind, buttermilk wouldn't do well

That's my 2cents, YMMV

Well it came out pretty well. Not sure the buttermilk did much of anything.
The trick is not to over cook. This meat had almost no fat. I used the water pan and it had 99.9% water when I dumped it.
Still had wild / too strong taste for me.
My brother in laws cook these all the time and love them. I will pass.
