Butter Separating from BBQ sauce

Good morning,

I've been using a recipe for a BBQ sauce for about a year now that I really like... but I have a continued problem: I can't keep the butter from separating out.

Admittedly, it's a lot of butter - two sticks. I'm going to add the butter in small increments this morning and whisk the crap out of it.... but any other tips for preventing separation with homemade sauces?
 
You could try using lecithin to emulsify and stabilize your sauce. It's sold in liquid and powder form. You'll probably have an easier time ordering it online than finding it in a store.

Yep, definitely going to need to emulsify that mixture. Mustard powder is another viable option as well.
