Broilmaster P4 pick-up, test run....

Oh wow, Josh, that is one incredible custom Broilmaster! They could only have dreamed of making one look that stunning. Very beautiful and functional, too. Your patience in laying out that design has been obviously well rewarded.

Keep those steaks sizzling and someday try it on indirect😎.
Thank you very much Jon I always appreciate your support!
It's funny every time I think I thought of something new or a new grill to pursue it seems you've already been there and done that lol. Your portfolio of grill restorations is stunningly impressive and I'm always thankful for your help.

Yep, looks great. Gotta put it through all it's paces. I personally did not find indirect use on it to be a strong suit though one thing that helps on a BM there is how thick and heavy the the casting of the grill tub and lid are and once "heat soaked" they do a remarkable job of holding on to and spreading heat. Sort of like a giant Dutch Oven

I absolutely love seeing your projects, and this is no exception! I never would have thought of the alternating sized boards but it really sets it off! Well done, like always
Thank you very much Eric! You're always supportive and have kind things to say and I appreciate that! Can't wait to finish our G2000's and hopefully Jon will join us in restoring his similar Broilmaster!

Thank you very much Larry! I find that nothing's perfect but I'm really liking this grill for Steaks so far. I don't mind having different grills for different purposes. The function and build quality of these Broilmasters at the very least is worth a closer look for anyone in the market for a grill. At least in my opinion it's a pretty darn good unit.

Outstanding. I really liked the stainless shelves on mine and had doubts about you going wood but WOW! I love how it turned out. The routing, alternate sizes, and finish are spot on. Beautiful grill and a keeper.
Thank you very much Joe! I appreciate your support and your inspiration helped me decide to get into these Broilmaster grills. I'm enjoying this one very much and excited to restore my G-2000D next.

That would be cool. It is a good looking grill in it's own way but cooking on it would be the deciding factor for sure.
I love it to for lots of reasons and it's my favorite grill for grilling steaks but I need more time with it to say how good it is at everything. I can say if I could only have the Broilmaster or a Genesis 1000 or Jr. I'd stick with the 1000 or Jr. But I love having the Broilmaster in my lineup and I'm glad I can have a variety of grills. Just thought I'd add that for those normal people who don't want a row of grills in the yard lol

I do like how the Broilmaster goes from 0°F to 800°F+ fast and love the versatility of all the flip tables making it very compact when tables are all down. It would be great for a person with a small space but wants a large powerful grilling surface.

Just Finished My Broilmaster P4XF-2.

I picked this grill up for $100. It was barely used and I put it to work right away. I was so impressed with it that I thought I'd do some nice custom IPE Ironwood (Brazilian Walnut) flip tables and a new paint job. I decided not to detail the inside of the cookbox because it's still pretty clean and I'm just going to put it back to work as one of my daily use grills. I bought a pair of SS brackets for the front flip table and used the SS brackets that came with the grill that originally had plastic side flip tables. This was different than my Weber wood work because with Webers I try to stay close to factory original besides the wood species.

I took a full day to mock up different size wood to figure out what would look best to me in every configuration weather tables are up or down or some of each. I used the same IPE Ironwood (Brazilian Walnut) that I used on my Jr. Except I decided to use 1" think wood and every other slat twice as wide. I also routered the slats more aggressively and spaced my slats a little closer at 1/8" between slats.

It turned out exactly how I envisioned it to. I just take my time as long as it takes to get the result I'm looking for and I'm happy with how it turned out.
