Broilmaster G-2000D Restoration


 
I will be looking as my work schedule allows. Even if I run out of time to paint, it would be helpful to do a dry run re-assembly after FIVE YEARS!!! Unfortunately, while the basic body is the same as yours and Eric's, the internals and controls are totally different. So, I will be relying on the very inadequate amount of disassembly photos I took years ago. I sure wish I had better chronicled the process, all the different parts, and how they went together!
 
Great news! I went out at lunch and dug through my shed and way down was a bucket with all my missing Broilmaster II parts, down to a labeled box with small parts including the burner knobs. As overloaded as I am, I was pleasantly surprised to find I had actually organized the stuff from this rare grill.

The parts were in sad shape to begin with and five years of laying in my shed probably didn’t help any. At least I have something to start with in trying to get it all back together😎!

What are you guys going to use for regulators? Is like to get one other than the manual one I have. Not sure what it needs or originally had to feed both large burners. @LMichaels do you have any insight?
 
I just wondered as it acted strange with the manual regulator. With both running I could adjust it so everything seemed good, but when I shut one of the remaining one turned into an inferno. Maybe it's just how the adjustable regulator works?

That's interesting mine didn't do that in any of the configurations I tried.

I went with this LP regulator

I will be attaching it to this splitter to feed the two sides:

These will replace the NG line and tubing that made the split on mine originally:

Now I have to get 3 LP orifices. I actually have some old ones but I really want to keep those on as they are. They are full assemblies for more standard Broilmasters. My orifices seem to be the same size as the later LP ones. I guess Broilmaster had changed by the time they made my later model that has front controls and also a dual burner for the left regular grill side.

Possibly it was the dirty burners? I was finally about to get the oven side out this evening, it was a bit stuck on the manifold. I was able to blow a good deal of rust flakes or if it. The burner looks overall solid like the other one, but maybe that has someone to do with it. I'll get it together and try again tomorrow
