Brisket's in Chicago

Hi! I'm going to be smoking a lot of beef briskets next weekend and I'm wondering where I should go for them.

I found Peoria Packing on here and loved that place...but they are more for pork. I saw some blurps about excel corned beef on here as well. Is this still open to public for briskets? Is there somewhere else that has better meat and a better price?

I have to order my briskets in advance from Peoria. I give them about a week notice and never have been disappointed.

Try Sams club for briskets! They are flats and usually range in size from 4 to 10 lbs.

The flats I've been getting lately from Sam's have been in the 4 to 5 pound range and extremely thin. I try to get at least 8 pounders for comps.

You can get full packers from Peoria but you have to order them in advance. Beef ribs are a hit and miss thing also.

I'm wondering if I should just order them from PP...but not sure how much time I'll have to pick them up. So I might have to go to Sam's....

Try a Super Wal Mart for packers. I get choice packers here for $1.67lb and are in the 10-18lb range. YMMV.

Well Denver hasn't caught up to Chicago yet. I called the super Walmart and they have select brisket for $1.67 per pound. Drag.
