Brisket on Monday

Sorry for the late post but I tweaked my back and stayed home yesterday. Anyway, on Monday I cooked a brisket using the offset smoker I bought at a garage sale for $20 bones. It actually wasn’t as much of a pain to use as I thought it was going to be. Yes its no WSM and I had to keep adding coals and wood throughout the cook but all in all it was a nice change and kinda fun. The brisket came out good but a tad bit dry for my likings but it was still good. We had roasted Brussels sprouts and some wild rice. In the plated shot I added some bbq sauce to mine that I jacked up using some really powerful hot sauce called *** Blaster, the wife and kids wouldn’t touch it.

Yeah, beauty of a smoke ring.

With a name like *** Blaster, you know it's got to be good. I wonder if that's their slogan?

Glad it all worked out.

I have both the WSM and an offset smoker. For some reason or another, I always get a bigger smoke ring with the offset smoker. Nice lookin' brisket you got there. Thanks for sharing.

Holy Smoke Ring!!! Great looking brisket Toby. I'm with your wife and Kids, I'm staying away from anything called "*** Blaster."

Hey Toby - your cooks ALWAYS look good. But I am doing a bit of a hijack. I know that you have a CG PRO/SFB or similar.

Check the trading post. I have a good bit of CG PRO accessories. If you are interested send me a PM. For you they are free. Just pay shipping. Looking to get these out of my basement. Can't use them.

Thanks so much for thinking of me Ray but I think I'll just keep her stock at this time. I must say that warmer plate would be nice though. I'll let you know if I decide I want it but if someone else makes an offer, go for it. Thanks again!
