Brinkman Charcoal Pan

Got my 18.5 WSM for Xmas and now I want a better pan. I've searched and clicked on various links for the Brinkman pan but they all seem to be dead. I understand that Brinkman charcoal pan is the way to go, right? Is this the correct one?

My goal is to cook without water--I want to wrap pan in foil and not worry about messes any more. I suppose I should look into clay pot as well.

Well, here we go--is this the right product?

Nope. Still same shipping, and just ordered it!

Thanks for responses everyone!

Anyone have a link to clay saucer by chance?

There's an Academy Sports in Evans, Ga. and one in Orange Park, Fl.(Jacksonville). I don't know how long it would take to get to either but if you happen to be traveling through one of them you can pick up the pan cheaply.

This is the one (just bought one). Academy Sports...$4.99. They just had $5.00 shipping but it looks like that ended.

Just ordered myself one, and still only $4.99 with $5.00 shipping. Seems the movers lost my water pan, so I have no choice but to get a new one. Think I'll claim the 18.5 WSM is no longer functional

and charge them for a new 22 WSM

yep, I just ordered and received new Brinkman charcoal pan from Academy Sports for $4.99 w $5.00 shipping. Was here in a week. Placed 2 washers on each inside lower grill straps. Pan sits in there perfect, no chance of spillage now.

Sorry if this has been covered, does this mod require washers?
Thanks

Not at all. The washer mod is only to perfectly center the pan in position and also not allow it to slip if having to do a hot squat.

It's safe to assume from posts that most folks are like me and haven't messed with the washers since there seems to be on chance of the pan slipping enough either way to fall off.

My Brinkman fell and dumped a dirty pan of hot rib water on my wooden deck this past weekend. It's stained and I may not get it out. I did the washer mod tonight. I see it holds the 14" clay saucer all by itself now.

Gary, all I know is that I've read that the Brinkman pan is actually more secure than the old Weber pan, and haven't read much of the "washer mod" until just recently, let alone ever thought there was a need for it. Glad it worked for ya, though. Guess inconsistencies in the Brinkman pan abound, as well as slight variances in the measurements between the grill straps, etc.
