Breakfast - (AKA I love mornings now.)

Love that thing, it's the Sizzle Q by Little Griddle.

Chris - I have a Sizzle Q that I tried once but couldn't control temps on. Any pointers such as knob temp setting, seasoning the griddle, etc. that can help me get even heat on my griddle? My wife would LOVE for me to cook an outdoors breakfast, but my first experience with my Sizzle Q left me a bit discouraged. Some parts of the griddle scortched due to being too hot, while other areas weren't nearly hot enough. Thanks in advance for any griddle tips!

Breakfast on the grill is one of my favorites! The griddle looks interesting. Nice cook!

Pat, I can't speak to these griddles as I have never used them, but I use some cast iron skillets for making breakfast. I use them a lot for making breakfast over charcoal on my Smokey Joe. The CI seems to absorb and distribute the heat pretty well over an imperfect heat source.

I put my griddle on right after I start the burners and warm it up on medium heat with the lid closed, once it hits 400 I know it's probably ready. At that point it depends on what I'm cooking, but medium for my Genesis 3 burner is a good starting point. The griddle (in my experience) spreads heat pretty evenly, but if you need a cooler zone make sure one burner is on the far side and adjust your heat with that one, leaving the other ones on low or even off if need be.

For charcoal grills I use the Weber charcoal trays and put them on one side of the grill usually and do my longer cooking items on that side (potatoes for example) and more delicate things like eggs on the cooler side.

Lastly, I just spray mine with PAM before heating it up and rub it around with a paper towel. If I'm cooking hashbrowns I have a squeeze bottle of oil I use to coat them when on the grill.

I hope that helps and you can get some use out of it!

thanks, Chris, you've given me newfound courage to try my Sizzle Q again! I'll let you know how it goes ... ;)

Very nice looking breakfast!!! I have been eyeing those griddles for the kettle for a while now but wish they were a little bigger in diameter.

The Lodge 10-1/2" round griddle works well for me for breakfast, kettle and genesis both.
When I do breakfast on the grill, my neighbor used to tell me I was crazy being out there
grilling breakfast. Now he hops the fence for a handout.
