'Braneless

I bought three racks of babybacks from a local butcher. It sorta looks like the membrane has already been removed. When I try to pry is up, I just get weak little strips. Can't get anything to pull off in a sheet like I'm used to.

Anyone else ever have this happen?

Yes. And the fact that it came from a local butcher would be further reason to suspect it's already been removed. I wouldn't try to remove anything more. I once bought two packs of spares from different locations of the same grocery chain-- one had the membrane removed already, the other did not.
