Boneless Cross Rib Roast....

Henry Joe Peterson

TVWBB Super Fan
got a random quesiton from a friend who cooks a bunch....

She found a killer sale on boneless cross rib roasts and bought 3. She alread did a pot roast with 2.

Her question to me was, can you smoke that cut?

Anyone ever try that?

I figure if you can smoke a whole shoulder clod, you could smoke a boneless cross rib roast.

but I thought I'd ask you folks.

Any other suggestions for a grand way to cook it, other than smoking or pot-roasting?

I did a quick google search for cross rib roast and found a site for a smoker company called Bradley.

They recommend smoking it at 220 degrees, low and slow for 7-8 hours until internal temp of 150. That seems a bit high for my rare taste.

Try it and let us know!
