Has anyone drilled holes in WSM to install CB probe grommet? What type bit did you use

Hi Bob, welcome to the forum. Here's the grommet being put into a mini, but the method is the same for the WSM

For the metal Cajun Bandit probe grommet, I used a titanium brad point bit from Home Depot. Mark the location of the hole after placing a piece of blue painters tape on the WSM where you plan to drill. The brad point and painters tape will help keep the drill bit from skating on the porcelain. Go slow and let the bit slowly grind off the porcelain prior to drilling through the metal to prevent chipping the porcelain. Make sure you get the larger 3/8" grommet if you have a curved probe like on the Maverick 732
