Blue claw crabs in WSM??

My husband just caught 3 dozen Blue Claw Crabs.
I have the WSM ready to go, for chicken thighs (apple wood).
If I were to put the crabs on after the chicken,
(in a tin pan with a little water and old bay seasoning) do you think the wood smoke flavor would be OK?
Has anyone else cooked crabs this way?
I did a search but could not come up with anything.
 
unless the crabs are already cleaned i doubt you'd get any smoke flavor. i see no reason that what you propose won't work. if the WSM is already fired up i say do it!!
 
I was really under the gun, not to mess up these crabs, since my husband spent half the afternoon catching them

(He wanted me to make an Italian tomato and crab sauce with them) but I did, "go for it" and they turned out GREAT!

The smoke flavor did not interfere with the crab taste at all, I will be doing them again in the WSM for sure!
