Bisket hash - yum

I'm fairly new here. This is probably nothing new, but I made some hash with some left over brisket this morning. I used half of a medium onion, a large baked potato, and chopped up the leftover brisket. Fried the whole thing in some butter. Served it with a couple over mediun eggs, toast and freshed ground coffee. It makes up for staying up half the night with a sick two year old. Just what I needed...... another reason to smoke another brisket.

Hope the 2 yr old feels better.

That sounds really delicious! I just wish brisket wasn't so stinkin' expensive around here. I've been wanting to cook another one myself but just can't bring myself to pay $3.50-$4.99/lb.

That was my first brisket. I actually made two for a party we threw. I checked out Costco twice before the party, and they only had 5 pounders both times. I ended up buying the briskets at a place called Smart & Final. S&F was cheaper two weeks prior. My wife and I go fairly frugal on most things, but we both feel if you're going to eat you should eat well.

Not sure how often I will cook briskets. I bought a FoodSaver. When I do smoke brisket in the future, I will definitely get a big one and freeze some leftovers in vacuumn bags.

I used to buy the corned beef hash in the cans from time to time. Not great but I enjoyed it once in a while. My wife hates it. She really liked the has I made this morning.

That sounds good Daris. I've been looking for good stuff to do with my vac packed brisket!

Thanks for the post.
