Big Green Egg

My wife decided that I needed a BGE and bought me a used large one as a 25th Anniversary gift (she got a steal). I think this means I need to start shopping for a very large diamond.

I used the Egg last night for the first time and quickly reached 750 degrees without even trying. I expect to mostly use the Egg for high temp grilling and as an outdoor oven.

I promise not to join the cult and will NOT begin using bad "egg" puns.

I have had my Kamado for 36 years. It's not the ceramic one but clay. Mine has 2 grates. I put the smaller grate between the fire box and ring and put a water pan on it for indirect cooking. It's the large or #5 with a 18" grill. I fired mine up yesterday to dry it out since we've had so much rain. It stayed at 350 for about 3 hours with 1/2 a chimney of charcoal. Even though I just bought a WSM she is still my baby.

There is a lot of info on them on Google. Just look up Kamado.
