BGE, Primo, Kamado Joe, Big Steel Keg


 
Not in the market for one but I've looked at them over the years and would probably go with a Primo XL. Think it has more flexibility than an Egg.
Funny about the wife ... Dealer that I bought my 18 1/2" WSM from also sold Egg's and they were on display side by side. She asked me if I'm sure I didn't want the Egg. I've come to spend $200 for a WSM and she's telling me it's OK to spend $1000 + for an Egg. Think it was after I bought my gasser (that I no longer use) that she said "Enough ... No more grills!", but she's since bought for me my 26 3/4" OTG and 22 1/2" WSM
 
Sutherlands Lumber in my area has the Primo Oval sitting on a nice table, ss side tables and on wheels for $499.99. Was very tempting but i was in a hurry. Did not check to see if it was the XL or Jr.

I like the best of both world. XL egg with a 22" weber kettle for a fire box. Eggers always complain about their pits going out in the middle of the night due to uneven air flow. I drilled a dozen or so small holes around the base of this kettle and I get a prtty even burn pattern.

A ceramic grill would be ideal for your climate, MN.

IMHO, ceramic is ceramic.

We all have foreign goods. Does possession of one less import make you feel more patriotic?

A lifetime warrantee and a vast dealer network take priority over a grill's shape, or where it was made.

Lots of new ceramic grills in the game now. Look for one, like Weber, that has a reputation for eggcellent customer service. One that will be around when the others fall.

Most vessels used to cook on grills are round. Skillets, pizza stones, woks, dutch ovens, etc. Don't really see an advantage of an oval design, unless you frequently cook traditional BBQ items. Round has advantages. The Neopolitana you wish to attempt is one of them.

The close proximity of the round dome helps cook the pizza from all angles by convection/radiation.
