The thing about the chargon is that it works best on grates that don't have the center cross bar, like RCP grates. It still works on the others, but not as conveniently.
If you are worried about the underside of the SS Rod grates, you can always flip them over to get the bottoms. The Chargon alone will get the top and sides.
