Thanks Steve!Yes, still readily available.
Hi Steve, it looks like these are the same bolts holding the aluminum sides on the hood - Question - how do you hold the bolt head when removing the hex nut on the other side? Thanks.
You mention the lids are interchangeable but are they the same depth as the Silver B and C? Are the aluminum lid endcaps the same? ThanksThe deep box grills generally are considered better performance wise with the burners further from the grates and two levels of flavorizer bars to distribute that heat more evenly. It allows more room to use rotisseries as well by taking out the top layer of flavorizer bars. The cooking grates are the same size as those in a Silver B/C grill. Manifolds are not interchangeable as well as the control panels, burners, flavorizer bars. The frames are different as well. The lids are interchangeable however.
Thanks Bruce! I may have an opportunity to get a deep box 1000 but it has a bad lid gouge in the middle of the enamel lid. I was thinking of switching out the lid of a Silver B that's in nice condition and using the deep box for my personal grill. Have you cooked much on the deep box grills? Do you prefer them for all around use? ThanksBasically, any lid and end cap set should be interchangeable between Genesis 1000 style grills and Silver B style grills as long as you keep end caps with their original lid..
Ha! try convincing her your need of 3 or 4! Two is nothingThanks Bruce. I think my plan will be to eventually get a deep box so knowing I can switch out a lid is helpful. I won't give my Silver A up though. I love how that small thing cooks and it's perfect for just grilling for myself and/or my wife and I. The three burner deep box would be when family and company come over. My next question might be how do I convince my wife I need two grills on the deck. But that's probably best left to a different thread...
