Beer Can Chicken on a One Touch??

This has probably been asked a couple of hundred times, but... besides buying the rotisserie attachment is there any other known after market device that will get the lid up high enough to get a beer can chicken under it?

I have heard that the rotisserie kit may have been discontinued by Weber and therefore could hard to find.

Is the lid on the 26 in. model high enough to get a beer can chicken under it?

Thanks,
Rob

Robert-

I use my 22.5s for Beer Can Chicken, and if your birds aren't too big (i normally cook 4-5 pounders), you will be able to squeeze them under the lid...they might be touching the lid but they will fit...i would suggest using a beer can chicken holder to give them a solid base, so you have to worry about balancing or tipping over when the lid goes back on...

that being said, ever since I purchased the rotisserie ring for my kettle, i use it all the time for BCC to give more clearance...

buy chickens that aren't tall, like around 3.5 lbs . also many will take the top grate off and sit the chickens on top bricks or an upside down pan, etc in the middle of the charcoal grate and put coals on either side. a chicken can holder that does not make the chicken sit higher is also a good idea. usually i get 3.5 chickens and its cooked on the top grate. you can fit two doing this.
