I have cooked beer butt chicken several times and I have used (Lawrys Perfect Blend seasoning and rub for chicken and poultry).
Sprinkle some inside and outside of the bird, drink 1/3 or more of a beer, insert beer into chicken,"I put a couple pieces of garlic in the can" cook and yum. Watch out for the boiling beer can! The wife and kids think I am the Chicken Man. It is good, and simple.
