beans N rib tips

This weekend I prepped my spares a normal, rib tips in the bottom rack along with the skirt meat. Wife came home with some baby backs to smoke at the same time. I needed the room for the baby backs so I took off the skirt meat and rib tips after about an hour and a half on the smoker. Ate the skirt meat but cut away all the meat on the tips and combined with 2 cans of maple bush beans. Talk about tasty!!!! If you like beans and haven't tried this yet.....give it a shot. The meat sat in the beans for about 4 hours before I heated them up. Even better tasting the next day!!!

Sounds good John. I either smoke the extra meat for a little snack or I freeze it for later. Next time I’ll smoke it for a bit then add it too some BBQ beans, I’m sure the family would love it. Thanks for sharing.

The last time I saved the rib tips and threw it in a spaghettis sauce my wife was making but this was WAY BETTER!!!!!! In fact, I made a second batch with the left over ribs.

I really like rib tips...

Another good thing to so with beans is put them on the lower rack with some pork (ribs, butt, whatever) on the top rack.

PORK FAT GOOD!!!!

Paul,

I have been working like crazy! My oldest son graduates from IU this May, my twin girls are Sophomores at IU and my youngest daughter is preparing for Purdue in the Fall! Between all the stuff that goes along with that I get to visit the message boards every once in a while!
