BBQ Relish

Does anyone make or use a bbq relish?

I made No. 5.2 Sauce, strained out the coarse chopped onion, garlic, dried fruit, dried mushrooms and, cascabel pepper. Remove the pepper or chop it fine if you like it hot.

Use this No. 5 BBQ Relish on top of pulled pork (as in replacement for slaw-which I still do not like). It is delightful, full of flavor...great addition to a Q sandwtch.

OK, imagine coarse chopped onion and garlic cooked in your favorite sauce. Add a little fruit and heat. Remove from sauce and use as a topping on any bbq sandwich. No sauce is needed on the meat...this is good stuff...really!

I believe you...really!

Actually, I make relishes for different things, for on or next to various meats, etc. (Didn't see your OP.)

I use a different approach but I like the sound of your method very much.

Steve, Yes this does sound good. I must say though I never thought I would like the whole slaw ontop of a PP sammie but I tried it several years ago (with Kevins buttermilk slaw recipe) and to my surprise I loved it. I don't eat PP like that often but I do find it tasty. I'll give your relish a go sometime, with your #5 sauce. Thanks for posting.

Sometimes I just have to ask for attention!
It was neat to solve the problem of leftover seasoning agents, put them to good service and, perhaps, think differently about dressing a sandwitch. Your comments are appreciated. I feel better now. Really.
