BBQ and my Dad....

Awesome post. Spend as much time with your dad as you can. Wish I could. How did you like the orange? I found it good with hickory. Have you tried adding jalapeños and cheese to your cornbread? That is my favorite.

Looks like a great day.

Got to spend quality time with my dad on Saturday. The person that showed me how to work and be responsible!!
The man that said to me " men don't use straws to drink from a cup" "men don't need sides when there's good meat" "drink beer but never show how drunk you are" I can go on on...

Please do...:D

I would reccomend the orange wood. I think it was good. I used to large chunks. I'm going to try with hickory next time. What do you suggest 2 orange and 1 hickory?
We never tried cheese or jalapeño on it... Next time well definately try it.

I remember stuff my dad said as stuff happens to me or certain situation... But here are few classics.
Don't embarrass yourself because you are also embarrassing me...a real man keeps his word. Never show signs of weakness..never miss work unless your dying in the hospital...

That sounds about right for the wood. YOu definitely go heavier on the orange. I add about 2 cups of cheese and some chopped up peppers to the better and stir it in. The last time I used the recipe from the Weber's new Real grilling which filled up a 10" Cast iron skillet. I would also share some of my father's wisdom but most is not acceptable in polite company.

I had to clean up his quotes a little and this was told to me in spanish so it may have lost some meaning when I translated. Thanks Curt.

Glad you were able to spend Father's Day with your Dad, Tony! Love all his words of wisdom. My Dad told me many similar things.:)

The ribs and sides look terrific. Thanks for sharing!!

Enjoy the time with your father and make sure to pass down those words of wisdom to your son. Good looking ribs!
