Bacon!!!


 
So this was my 2nd attempt at bacon. I do recommend it for everyone!

Started with a 7 lbs pork belly i bought at a farm for 2.79 a pound! Tender Quick and Brown sugar on!



After 7 days of cure and then 1 day of drying:



Then sliced by hand. I really need a to get a slicer. I lost about a lb worth of bacon since it was hard to slice some of the areas by hand (lost is the wrong word..it will be used)



And finally i made a quick batch of some of the not so great slices:



The only thing you have to remember with this bacon is to cook on low heat or you will burn the pan. It was fun and is worth every penny since bacon now a days is 4 to 5 bucks a lb.

Mike; that's some great knife work! Looks as good as any slicer would do, but I also know it takes more time to cut those slices so well - you did a great job! Bacon looks wonderful.
