Bacon Wrapped Tater Tots

My last batch, totally thawed, no toothpicks at all! I simply "stretched" the bacon some as I wrapped, have not done the cheese step, just don't see the need. Maybe next time.
I have to admit that is one of the things l like best about grilling using the indirect method, put the puppies on, mix cocktails, enjoy one, take the gems of deliciousness off, have one, follow with a cocktail to cool the burned mouth! Repeat, repeat, repeaat!
Make way more than you think you will eat, maybe three times what you "think" you will want and you might be almost right.
These things are seriously good, and the hardest thing is cutting the bacon.

Oh sooo good! I had these at a graduation party a few years ago and completely forgot to ask how they were made. I will be doing these soon.

I did up a batch of bacon wrapped tater tots and they were a huge HIT!

Smithfield thick cut hickory smoked bacon, Ore Ida tater tots (big and consistent shape), and small squares of Hatch green chile.

I did up 40 and they were gone in short order.

I didn't use cheese, though, instead we rustled up different sauces for dipping: honey mustard, bbq, and Ranch dressing.
