Thi may be a long shot but does anyone know of a butcher in Brisbane that will cut baby back ribs. Can only seem to get usa style ribs ( dont know why they call them that cause there is not a lot of meat on them )Have asked a few butchers and the ones that had any idea what i was talking about said no they wont do cause it stuffs the rest of their cut. Any help is much appreciated

Hi Carlos,

I'm from Sydney and it's pretty much the same down here but I have seen a lot of the American Style ribs as you were reffering to and I guess it depends on the butcher as to how much meat is on them. Some ribs are pretty much anorexic

Did you ask them why & how it stuffs-up the rest of their cut? That'd be interesting to know! I don't know any butcher mates so I can't ask anyone apart from the local bloke and I actually wonder if he knows anything about American style cuts.
Have you had a look at the Aussie BBQ forum? Good bunch of blokes there from all over the country. It's still a very young forum site and probably not as active as here but we're getting there.

G'Day Mate. I can get Baby backs at the Market in Footscray. The majority of the Meat stalls are Asian. You may want to try Fresh Produce Markets in and around Brissy The pork that I get is top class and cheaper than most other places.

As me mate Davo said check out the Aussie BBQ forum, We have a few Banana Benders as members, they may know.

Regards
