As Promised Frankie Vallie review

So last night wife and I along with one of my oldest friends and his wife, went to the Coronado Performing Arts Center in Rockford IL to see Frankie Vallie and the 4 Seasons. In a nutshell. What an INCREDIBLE show. This guy is 89 years old, came out with now "warm up" act and performed solid hit after hit with no breaks for close to 2 hours. And quite honestly (you can watch the little video snippet included here). Even at 89 yo he still sounded like it was 1965. Yeah he moves a little stiff (who doesn't these days). or could be from when he got "whacked" on the Sopranos :D All kidding aside this guy was amazing. He stopped one time during introducing the band to have a sip of water. IDK how he could do this. And what in incredible band behind him. This guy pulled off Motown hits, show tune hits, his own early 60s stuff. Never missed a beat. Worth every penny. And if you ever get a chance to see him. Don't miss the opportunity!!! (unless you were never a fan). Anyway bare in mind this clip was near the end of his close to 2 hours on stage non stop

Wow! That's a bucket list event, if ever

My favorite: Walk Like A Man (and yes I own and love the movie The Wanders)

Other Frankie Valli songs I like

Sherry (Sherry Baby)
December 1963 (Oh what a night)
My Eyes Adored You
Workin my way back to you
He did them all and more. Tellin ya this was easily the most amazing show I have EVER seen and I have seen a lot going all the back to seeing Ella Fitzgerald with Tony Bennet live on stage together. And Frankie was easily in that league but for different reasons

Loved to see this, Larry. Thank you! And for the clip. In the day, I was a huge fan and knew all the words to all the songs but sadly didn't have his range. Truly amazing at 89! With your rec, I would go see him. We have the multi-CD set of all his stuff and just the other day I had Going Out of My Head/You're Just to Good to Be True running around in my mind all day.

Hopefully it makes it to YouTube or Nugs or something

I only threw up a couple little clips. I wanted to enjoy the experience not make a video. Which is why the little clips only

Yes. There are 2 shows I can count as the most amazing I have ever seen. One was Ella on stage with none other than Tony Bennett and they performed with nothing but piano and a bass.
And now Frankie Vallie.

I completely understand the enjoying the experience. I tend to focus on the moment (show, class, Trip, etc.). Sheila wants to take pics , notes or whatever. I want my memories.

That's pretty amazing that he can still sing like that. My "musical Era" is/was the '80's & it's getting very difficult to find artists who can still belt it out live. This guy's got at least 20 years on them...

Absolutely amazing!

He was given some type of award by the Winnebago Cty Italian American group. This was taken just prior to his show
