Are there Summit models with updated stainless panels?


 
Lee, that might be true. I would worry about gunk and moisture getting trapped between the two however. But if the shields were removed and cleaned up fairly often, then I don't think that would be an issue either. I will be looking forward to reports as time progresses.
 
Thanks to all for you insights. I feel more comfortable holding out a little longer before I replace my cook box.

Weber sent me a new cook box a few years ago when the rust started. It's in storage. I'm thinking I will use the one I have now until it's no longer safe to use.

By the way, this is a great forum!
You have a new one all ready to go? You're one of the lucky/smart ones that contacted Weber early enough to get a replacement sent to them. Good for you!
