Yah, I turn in tanks that have the old style connectors or even quick connects. They ship all those empty tanks back to a central facility and they are really efficient at inspecting and if necessary updating them. They can probably retro fit one with an old style connector and even repaint it for a couple bucks and that is why they are not picky about them at trade in. When you go next time, look as the section of returned tanks in the cages. You will notice probably half of them don't have any logo on them or they have another brand logo on them.
